Kart Racing is a fast, exciting, and intense form of motorsport, predominately these days for 6-to-18-year-old competitors.
By necessity, the sport’s technical and sporting regulations are complex and as a senior official at international competitions it was patently evident that younger competitors [and their parents!] seldom read the regulations, and if they did, they encountered difficulty in interpreting and complying with them.
The solution? “Racing Rules Explained”, a 144-page book, written in an easy-to-read style and highly illustrated with explanatory diagrams and cartoons to suit the target age-group.
With over 4,000 copies published since 2013, this innovative publication has been widely acclaimed, translated and adopted by governing bodies, organisations, clubs, and circuits around the world.
Recent editions of the book have proudly included a Foreword by Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel and Mercedes F1’s new star George Russell.
Bespoke editions have been specially produced for: Australia, Barbados, Lebanon, Malaysia, Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, UK, and the United Arab Emirates.

I am a former football referee, kart racer, rally co-driver, racing driver and FIA Race Director, Steward, Clerk of the Course who has officiated at major international motorsport events from kart racing to Formula 1.
